Often times I get asked “Do I need a survey?” or “What is a survey?” The survey is basically the shape of the perimeter of the property. It could be as small as a postage stamp or it could be well over 100 acres. A survey is basically a map of what the property is and will also include the legal description. Most of the time there is one on file, you can look at the tax database and see if it has been recorded. Many times surveys are purchased, but are failed to be recorded. Surveys are an important thing and they help you know the property that you are buying.
